British boxing fans await 'Fantastic Friday' by Ian McNeilly Aug 20th 2008

Why should British boxing fans be neglected in the current spate of alliteration that is surrounding the Olympic schedule? Last week the BBC were pushing 'Super Saturday' and then were left repeating themselves the following day, before pushing it by trying to label yesterday 'Terrific Tuesday'. Well, for British fight fans, this week sees 'Fantastic Friday'. All three Team GB boxers left in the tournament see action on Friday with the schedule as follows (all times BST): 8.01am, James Degale (GB) v Darren Sutherland (IRE) in the middleweight (75kg) semi-final 2.01pm, Tony Jeffries (GB) v Kenny Egan (IRE) in the light-heavyweight (81kg) semi-final 2.46pm, David Price (GB) v Roberto Cammarelle (ITA) in the super-heavyweight (91kg+) semi-final To risk stating the obvious, losers go home with a bronze medal and winners progress to the final so are therefore guaranteed at least a silver.
