It is good to know the current resurgence of British boxing is not only limited to the professionals. The excitement, enthralment and anticipation that now accompanies the British fight calendar shows no signs of abating and whilst this is great news for the greater good of the sport, the real excitement is quietly emanating from within the ranks of Britain's amateur boxing team.

The Olympic qualifying box-offs reached their conclusion on Saturday with another Team GB boxer qualifying for the Olympics in Beijing.
Team GB continued their incredible run of success by securing another two boxing places at the Beijing Olympics yesterday (Friday).
Birmingham flyweight Khalid Yafai and London middleweight James DeGale became the fifth and sixth boxers respectively to qualify for the 2008 Games.
