Light-heavyweight Tony Jeffries guaranteed Team GB a second boxing medal in Beijing by beating Hungarian Imre Szello 10-2.
Jeffries, who really struggled in his previous bout (when he was very ragged in winning 10-9 on countback), looked a man transformed against the Magyar.
The Sunderland man was far more relaxed meaning his punches flowed more naturally whilst taking an aggressive approach which worked very well.
Although Szello looked typically unlucky not to score more than two points against the hardly elusive Jeffries, there was no doubt the Briton won.
In fact, Jeffries won every round on the scorecards: 2-1, 3-0, 4-1 and 1-0.
He even forced his opponent to take a standing count in the fourth before celebrating wildly.
Jeffries now faces Ireland's Kenny Egan in the semi-final at 14.01 BST on Friday. The Brit will have his hands full against Egan who looked impressive in scoring an 8-0 shut-out against Brazilian Washington Silva. As a result, Egan became the heaviest Irishman ever to gain an Olympic boxing medal.
