Carragher backing Price in Beijing by Kevin Taylor Aug 21st 2008

Merseyside boxer David Price will go for Olympic gold in Beijing over the weekend buoyed by words of encouragement from Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher. Price, a boyhood Liverpool fan, who is guaranteed at least a bronze medal faces world champion Roberto Cammarelle on Friday. "David has done a fantastic job so far and I'm sure that will continue," Carragher told Liverpoolfc.tv "The whole of Liverpool are proud to have such a quality ambassador and boxer representing the country. "I know all of the lads here wish him all the best and we hope to see him soon with an Olympic gold medal. Good luck." Price's bout with Cammarelle will be a re-match of their fight four years ago when the Italian came out on top in the European Championships.
