Liverpool super-heavyweight David Price secured at least a bronze medal when he won his quarter-final match in unusual circumstances.
Towards the end of the first round, which Price won 3-1, Lithuanian Jaroslav Jaksto sustained what looks like a muscle tear in his left thigh.
His corner desperately applied some ice but the unfortunate boxer was in no position to continue and the contest was officially waved off nine seconds into round two.
Price now boxes Italian world champion Roberto Cammarelle in the semi-final at 2.46pm BST on Friday.
Cammarelle didn't look particularly impressive in beating Colombian Oscar Rivas 9-5 in his quarter-final but will obviously prove very stiff opposition for Team GB's boxing captain.
